Default Flywheel bolts

I have a 1994 850 turbo, whats the best way to get the flywheel bolts out? I do not what to break or strip them out. The way my luck runs I will end up doing both. Engine is out of car and tools are no problem. Thanks for helping.

12 point 17MM socket. Also for pretty cheap you can get a flywheel wrench. It will hold the flywheel steady when you break the bolts loose. But if you have an air compressor and air tool then ignore the above statement about the wrench.

It will be fine when you reinstall the flywheel remember to put some loctite on the bolts to seal them. If you do not then it might leak oil out of the bolts.

OK, I bought a 17mm 12pt socket, and I'm not doubting you tec, but I just want to make sure. The socket fits a little lose, and the bolt does have 12pt's. Is it possible that my eng has female torx bolts on the flywheel? The bolt has a rounded head on it, and they have not been taken off before.

That should be the normal screws. They do look like funny screws. It should work fine.

i agree with tech on this one... 12pt 17mm.

the one thing to remember is once u break them loose put them back in snug, other wise you will never get that last bolt out because there will be to much pressure on it, ran into that a few times.

the bottom hole slightly to the left on your crank shaft has something in it, like a thread (prolly lock tite) might want to check it out to be sure.
