Default Gas smell, low milage.

I have a 1995 850 turbo sedan, every once and awhile when driving it within like 30 minutes of turning it on, it smells like gas, I figured maybe it was just needing to warm up so it was running rich. Then I noticed I'm getting 14 mpg, again, seemed low but I have a lead foot. I checked my fuel lines and they appeared "wet" however I wiped some of the wetness off with a paper towel and it was black, and did not smell like gas.

Basically what I'm asking is if you guys think my fuel lines are leaking because of the smell/low mpg, or if its normal. thanks.

There could be a leak somewhere. Try checking the fuel pressure.

Could be a leaking fuel line or even a bad injector seal that is leaking. I would check the fuel pressure and all the lines. When you check the fuel pressure, make sure that the pressure does not drop when the car is turned off.
