CRAZY GAS MILAGE
I'm not knocking it, but is it really possible to get over 31 MPG on my 2002 XC70? I recently bought this car with 74K and had been serviced regularly at Bobby Rahal Volvo in Pitts, PA. I was driving to Pitt airport today with no A/C on and was reading 29-31 MPH at 65MPH. I know that I drove almost 250 miles on what appears to be a half tank of gas or less. The instant readout was showing this milage up and back. Of couse, when I got into town the milage dropped to a bit more than 19.5. For an AWD, this seems to be really great milage. Is this unheard of????? The readout along with the fuel gauge seem to point that way. This is the first long drive it has been on and I simply love this car.
I plan on going to Royal Purple Syn oil this coming weekend too. I am sure this might help the milage a bit more. It's good stuff; used it in many of my cars and they all have run better after changing to Royal Purple. Eight bucks a quart, it should do something, eh?
