I just bought my 850 wagon in Dec. Ive talked to the mech who did the work before I bought it. Im getting a bit of grinding sound from the top of the fnt struts (when I turn the wheel moving or sitting)(when its dry out)

He says he replace the strut bearings (never knew they where there LOL).

could it be that they didnt reasemble the strut correctly or did I get a bad bearing. Im gonna try to remove the strut nut, and washer and try a real good lubricant to see if it stops or should I just replace them. Ive looked in the Haynes book, but I cant pick out the strut bearing...anyone got a pic so I know what im looking for?

I doubt it is the steering stops.
It has to be something else.

 

Yep Tech it was the steering stops,,,,greased them up and the sound is now gone.....saved me a long saturday disassembling the struts for nothing...LOL
