Default hard upshifting...cause?

My '94 850 shift normally, unless you are accelerating 3/4 throttle-full throttle. When you do that, the upshift is kinda rough.
My car is running rich, but I dont see how that would effect it shifting.
Down-shifting and normal driving it goes fine. Only the upshifts while accelerating hard.
Is there anything I should check?

Also, according to the codes, my o2 sensor must be bad.
I have a replacement on the way.
My MPG right now is around 14. I drive short trips, in town.
Will just a bad o2 sensor drop my milage by 18? 18mpg is what I read is the average for city driving.

It makes it feel like the transmission is dropping into gear with a bang almost.
