My 1995 850 wagon wiper arm does not have any screws. After removing the plastic cover, I can see that the hinge point is a rivet.
I removed the tension spring and now the army flops freely, but I see no way of removing the arm from the shaft.
BTW the plastic cover does not have any apparent way of removing it. I can see there are tabs near the hinge, but further up the wiper arm, the plastic seems to surround the arm itself. Nothing I can pry outwards without breaking it.

Lots of threads on the motor removal. Apparently the passenger side is difficult, no room to back it out ?
The two bolts holding it in are visible when you remove the trim under the headlight assembly.
My driver's side motor is busted; runs but won't stop so I think a gear has slipped or broken. Gotta take it out some time & see what can be done; there is a post on some forum where a guy managed to fix it.

My pass side wiper motor does not work. I got another motor from a yard but when I tried to take it out the process never ended more and more parts of the front end needed to be removed. Seemed to me like it would take about 3 to 4 hours before all was said and done so I backed off.
I have replaced a few of the motors on my 960's but have not been able to repair any of the motors yet. Seems like a sealed unit so I just get old used ones from the yard.

I found this thread when searching for instructions on how to remove the headlight wiper arm so instead of starting a new thread, I'll post this "how-to" here even though I did it on a V70. It's easy enough once you can see what and how to do it and a picture is worth a thousand words. Hope this helps and is similar to the 850's.
Here is the left (driver's side) headlight wiper/washer on my '00 V70 XC. The P.O. snapped off part of the bracket that holds the wiper when they tried to replace it and were apparently stumped on how to fix it. Enter Dig.
Note that I have already wiggled the fluid hose and removed it from the nipple which is just below the headlight to the far right in the pic. For photo reference purposes, I placed it back into position without actually fitting it back over the nipple.
The cap that covers the nut on the wiper stem flips up for easy access.
It's probably metric but I used a 5/16th socket and ratchet with no problem when I removed the nut.
The arm is mounted on a shaft with a tapered spline so you'll need a pair of pliers to grip and wiggle it to pull it off.
Voila! Ready to reverse the procedure to install the replacement. It's off to the "Pick 'n' Pull to see if I can find one.
Note the tapered spline.

Headlight washer hose
My headlight wipers work most of the time except the hoses providing the washer fluid seem to be blocked or corroded or something. My driver side wiper works about 90% of the time and the passenger wiper works about 40%. The passenger side washer hose seems to get some fluid which makes sense being the closest to the main hose junction but the driver side hose doesn't get anything. Upon my own investigation I found the hose winds its way somewhere through the radiator housing and just appears again behind the headlight. Does anyone know where the hose goes around the radiator and how to possibly fix it? If I can't figure it out I might just reroute the hose myself bypassing the existing hose to the wiper

Both of my headlight wipers were non functional, I was able to get one side off by unscrewing it, and for the driver side, I used a hacksaw to just shorten the shaft enough to fit in the covers without holes for the wipers. Sure, it was a hack job, but it's hidden behind the new cover, and only I know about it.
