Heater bypass
I need to bypass my heater core untill I can get hold of a new one and if anyone can help I need simple instructions.
Also if someone could point me in the right direction of a good source for a new core it would be appreciated.
I'm getting crazy quotes here in South America, but can have one delivered from the States next time my friend travels.
Thanks.

Source for a new one ----> EBAY, FCP or IPD to name a few. If you are using an aftermarket heater core be warned some people complain that the black foam strips used to seal the core to the case can cause some smell when they get hot. If you do a search you'll run across this complaint.

heater bypass on a '92 740
If I disconnect the two heater hoses in front of the firewall, how do I reconnect them together? use a tube or pipe? they both connect to the engine way down out of sight, under a bunch of stuff. That looks like it could become a real job.
any ideas?
I'm just trying to get a few more miles out of it, without the heater. ( It is misting coolant out of the air vents inside, and concerned that it may let go entirely at any time).
