hey you 850 wrench twisters-please help
My 2000 c70 convertible uses the 850 chassis including low pressure turbo 5 cyl. The problem is that it does not share the nimble ability to manuever and also has a huge turning radius. The problem is the steering bumber stops located at each front wheel. Apparently Volvo wanted to limit the amount of "lock- to-lock" travel in an effort to avoid a vehicle rollover.
could one of you please advise as to if I should entirely remove the stops or otherwise simply grind them in 1/8" increments in order to achieve a better low speed turning radius? Any help will certainly appreciated. Thanks!

Grind them and you will rub your fender wells. Front wheel drive cars inherently have a less than desired turning radius. This is due to trans axles.
Question I have for you....how does a 'Lock to Lock' travel avoid a vehicle rollover? I don't know of or can think of any situation that you would be cranking your wheel to full lock to avoid a collision. I mean a roll over is the result of high speed + abrupt change in velocity. Nothing to do with 'Lock to Lock' travel. Lock to lock travel is for radius turns.
