Make sure the oil is not over-serviced.

Make sure the PCV is in good condition.

Make sure to use the OEM filter (MANN).

What oil have you been using? As a temporary remedy, try using heavier weight oil, such as 10W-40. If blue smoke is spitting out of the tail pipe, oil is still entering the combustion chamber somehow. Strange.

If the oil level is correct and the PCV is not too hideously faulty, I would have the engine for compression-tested again at another reputable shop, even if the coolant reservoir level has not dropped and there is no sign of fuel in there.

Being this is a non-turbo, there has to be oil getting in somewhere. Did you have the engine compression checked? If so, what was the numbers?

They should all be about the same. I forgot the range, but if two or three are different by a good amount, then It is probably going to need an opening. piston rings, valve seats leaking....etc. wait for tech to say something...

If it smokes that bad and it's not leaking, I would guess it needs a bottom end rebuild. Especially since it's a non-turbo.
