My hood release cable has broken. It broke at the hood release handle. I really would not have a problem with this but the real problem is that even when i take a vise grip on the cable and pull, it wont even pop the hood. When i pull the cable i am pulling hard and i can see the metal bracket bend when i pull. When i have someone pull up on the hood and i pull on the cable all we can get is the driver side to pop up and not the passenger side. I have always had minor problems with my hood opening until finaly that stupid cable broke. I am wondering if there is any other way i can get my hood to open? I also am wodering if anyone has had to repair their hood release cable and how hard is it? My main problem is that i am guessin that i need to have the hood open to replace it and i cant even do that yet. [:@]

 

It is a major pain to get it open when that happens.
Try having someone push down on the passenger side then pull up.

If not then you will have to find it and grab and release the latch from under the car.

 

Is it easy to grab the release from under the car? because I am having no luck with the cable and opening the passenger side of the hood. Heat does not work and the hood wont open im having too many problems. [:'(]

 

No it is not easy it will take some time to find it and get to it.

 

could i possibly get some general directions on what to do?

 

You will have to look up from the bottom closely then try to get to the cable once you locate it.
It is a real pain but can be done.
