Default How do I tell what my engine type is?

I have a 93 850 and have a Haynes repair manual (leaves a lot to be desired). The manual states there are three system types:
B5252 S engine (Fenix 5.2 engine management system)
B5234 T engine (Motronic 4.3 engine management system)
B5254S and B5254 T engines (LH3.2-Jetronic fuel injection system, or Motronic 4.3 or 4.4 engine management system (depending on model and year).

My question is real simple: How do I find out which engine system I have? Knowing this is important to interpret the repair instructions, especially on the fuel system. Anyone have a clue on this? Thanks for any help.

Write down your VIN# and call the dealer, talk to aservice tech and they can tell you.

Hello Bruce [sm=welcomesign.gif]

Your answer is:

http://www.carspace.com/guides/How-t...de-VIN-Numbers

http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/...9_1.html#specs (copy and paste then check engine specifications)
http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/850plates.shtml
http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/...C/vin1994.html

This one has info that has my first three corrosponding digits which are YV1. Not sure how yours begins?

I will keep looking as I am very interested in the specifics of my Brick.
