If it's indeed worse case scenario my rear seal, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a lot from a dealership or shop. Any local techs want a side job? About how much would this be?

 

Labor is about 9 or 10 hours for doing it. The seal is pretty cheap.
Im not sure of the labor rates in your area.

 

Are you sure it is a rear main seal leaking? Could be a vent system problem if it has a lot of different oil leaks.

 

At my local independent Volvo repair shop it's about $1000............much more if you use a Volvo Dealer. Make sure you specify what oil you want used when they refill the engine or they'll just put whatever cheap 10-30W regular oil they normally use for oil changes.

 

3 years ago I had mine done at local garage in CT and it was $650

 

Yeah it's definately the rear main seal Went & had everything checked out at one of the local shops in SF.
Thinking of just selling it as is & taking a loss/starting over since I realy want a black interior car anyway. One Volvo tech can do it for $500 over the weekend. I supply the parts. Also I gotta clean out my PCV system out. Everything else checked out good.
