How to test an Air Mass Sensor on a 93' 850?
Hey gang,
VIN: YV1LS5504P2086953
Build Date: 05/93
Mileage: 142857
Now I have searched and read that if the Air Mass Sensor is pulled and the car starts and runs (with revs I presume) and if the sensor is plugged back in and the car idles rough and does not rev or accelerate, the the Air Mass Sensor is bad.
Now, to test the Air Mass Sensor, do I unplug the electrical harness from the Air Mass Sensor and test, or do I unplug / take out the Air Mass Sensor and then run the test?
Thanks in advance for your advice / help!

Hi BavarianTech and Kanji,
I think you should disconnect the harness. You want to find out
how the car runs without the MAF's influence. I am not sure
whether you need to turn off the engine before disconnecting
it. As JPN mentioned check the wiring first. If that doesn't
help then disconnect the sensor from the harness. If the sensor
does appear to be bad, they can sometimes be cleaned.
Kanji, I hope you're doing ok and will get your internet connection
back soon.
Best regards, John
