Default I have no idea what this switch does... help? [PIC]

Volvo makes great cars, but the layout of the interior took some getting used to, and I still am clueless about this one switch... could you help me out? Is this a stock switch, or something aftermarket maybe?

It's a little green rocker switch right next to the steering column... doesn't light up (dead bulb? who knows), doesn't really do much of anything... I have no idea what it is, but here's a picture:

Any guesses?

Not sure what it does but I have one too in my 97 R, but it doesn't look like yours. Mine looks more like the switch right next to it and when I turn it on a green light lights up above the switch. I think it's for the rear fog lights, but not certain. Looks like somebody replaced the switch on yours.

yeah, they came with alarms. That is a weird switch, never seen one. Never seen that switch next to it with the window and lock on it. I have the rear fog, but that's up on the top row of switches for me.

The green switch is aftermarket. Someone put it there for some reason.

I have install a switch in my 850. It is for the power antenna. I got from a 960. I don't like my antenna going up and down everytime I drive the car. https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-850-16/power-antenna-switch-write-up-30891/

I have seen others that say they installed those generic rocker switches for various reasons including but not limited to: fog lights, power antenna, alarms, fuel shut off, tow hitch lights, custom lights, etc.. It could go to anything. You can also remove it and install a blank.

Aftermarket. Your going to have to pull the knee bolster and see where it goes. Even if it was installed at a dealer it is still not a factory item. It would have been a third party working for the dealership that performed the labor. Switches usually run: Fog lamps, Power Ant, Valet for alarms, turn on a bass tube or amp, run a power inverter, etc.
