Hmmm milky oil does sound like a head gasket. But another thing that could cause that milky film is condensation. Have you been doing shrot trips? Where is the milky sludge on the dipstick or on the oil cap? Any white smoke when driving? What year and make?

Unhappy Milky Oil

Have you recently overheated the car?

Does the car faintly smell like coolant under the hood?

Put an old cotton sock in the tail pipe with the engine running. Does it smell like Prestone?

Are you loosing coolant?

Pull the plugs, Does one look a little cleaner than the rest?

Do a compression test, Do two adjacent cylinders, show low compression?

If you answerd yes to any or all of these questions; you probably have a bad head gasket.
