Default Idles little high sometimes

My 97 na wagon sometimes idles at about 1000 sometimes when i m at a red ligght or stopped but if i hit the accelerator peddal briefly and let go, it comes back to about 800 resulting in less viberations inside.
My question is that, is it something do with throttle body or can a dirty idle controller will do the same and cleaning it will help?

I removed it and cleaned it thoroughtly with carb cleaner. The part inside was still very smooth and moved by just a little wiggle to the component. It seems that its acting much better now but i will have to monitor it for few days before confirming the fix.

OK..here is the situation now.

I am no more facing any eratic running issues but in general, The engine idles at about 900 rpm which is little high. I have tried with another idle controller (know good from friends car) but the results were identical. Again, as i mentioned, there are no other problems with the car, CEL light turned off by itself after the previous idle motor cleaning and car runs very smooth. I just feel more viberations from the higher idle speed during stops at RED lights etc. Throttle plate limit screw seems to be at normal (extreme positon) where the plate closes nice n tight.
Please let me know if the idle speed is adjustable somehow on there cars.

Thanks for info....I just thought 900 is bit high. The car has no runing problems at all. I did full tune up and replaced the front engine mount last month. All is good. Another small thing i found was that the tail pipe was hitting the hanger bracket and was passing on some viberation into the cabin. Its fixed and as of now, I have got no issues.

Thanks again...U guys are wonderfully helpful :P
