Some people really like them and some don't. My neighbor was going to buy a Lexus until she test drove a Volvo and she bought one. Have you driven the 850 and compared the drive to a Camry? Personally I think the 850 is one of the best looking cars on the road. It will cost more to maintain than the ricer's, but so will any European cars. Most peopel say you can expect to get 300K out of a Volvo, but you will spend some money on it to get there. I like Hondas and Toyotas for their reliablilty. I like Volvos because they are unique and they drive great.
