Default Lazy mechanics!!!!

After working on my motorcycle this last year spending every spare penny on getting it just the way I wanted it, I have decided to start working on the 850.

I'm slowly taking care of all the small things (dash bulbs, climate control bulbs, loose trim, etc.) and starting to do a thorough tune up...

Tonight I crawled under the car to check a few things and looked over by the fuel filter (supposed to have been changed last winter during a service appt), and man was I pissed. The fuel filter is obviously the original, as it is still covered in undercoating. Upon seeing this, I immediately went to the shop that performed the service. I keep all my receipts, so finding the exact one was pretty easy.

When I got to the shop and showed them the receipt, they looked it up in the computer... when they found it they responded with: "It's on the work order, so he must have done it." I took the mgr out to the car and showed him the filter and how it was covered with undercoating just like the rest of the car. Of course he didn't want to crawl down on the ground, for fear of getting his pretty white shirt (in desperate need of an ironing) dirty.

After about 2 minutes of him staring at the filter (not sure that he even knew what he was looking at), he looked at me and told me that if I had come to them sooner they would have done something, but since it had been so long, they would do nothing. Fine by me, I wasn't going to go back there anyway.... on screwing is enough for me.

Little does this guy know, he also lost every employee from our company, and our company vehicles.

Ok, rant over, I feel better now.

Oh yeah, new filter going on tomorrow... I'm sure the fuel pump won't be far behind now.

If it was me, I would have made it very clear about him losing all your business, and then when he tries to offer you the $30 just laugh and walk out the door. Then follow up with a letter stating everything, hopefully this idiot isn't the highest person on the ladder and he gets a good reaming by the real boss.

Unfortunately it was at a local independant shop, as the nearest dealer is 240miles away.

If that had been done at Borton Volvo, I am positive they would have made it right.

>Lazy mechanics!!!!
That's what they call me at the airport in Japan[8D]. They love slaving to the companies and doing hours of unpaid overtime[8D]. I volunteer on this forumbut NOT on my job[8D].

Most people are lazy, I don´t know why mechanics wouldn´t follow that rule.
