Default Le Volvo

Had a meet last weekend and got some recent pics of my car. In case you didn't know, this is what it looked like this winter while I was between suspensions:

And now. It has TA Technix Coilovers. There's only two sets in the States right now, mine, and the guy is who going to be bringing them over from Germany to sell here. I ditched the rear TA springs for Vogtland B5 Audi coilover springs with custom bottom spring perches. One coil cut so the springs seat perfectly in the factory Volvo upper spring seat. Currently they're maxed out in the rear, I may be cutting another coil to drop it more, we'll see when the new wheels go on. Fronts have probably 1.5" of drop left. The ride is amazing. Fischamma is the guy on VS that will be selling them

Also, chalk board hood and painted the Columbas. I was going to put the black hood back on, but my friend wants it, and for $75 bucks, I'll stick with the chalk board.

No good shots of the side profile right now. I t hink it's about where I was at before.

And wrapped up until they get tires.

I have 15mm adapters for the front and 37mm adapters for the rear coming. Then will be ordering some tires, 205/45 for the front and 215/45 for the rear.

Will be adding more pics to this as the adapters come and I can test fit the wheels.

Enjoy.

I know. Tires will be ordered this month. And see, we have this stuff on the road called salt, and these won't go on until the roads are free and clear of that stuff. Not going to run bare aluminum wheels on wet, salty roads. lol. Soon enough.

Is that all road salt on the side of the car? O_O Don't think I ever seen a car that dirty before. Like the BBS rims, my uncle used to have it on his old '89 Civic Si hatch.

Yeah. I don't have a way of washing it in the winter. And besides, the car was ugly on stock suspension and batman wheels, so I didn't feel like washing it. lol

Yeah. Hopefully I'll pick up a set of 17s and they won't be on the car too much. So I won't have to worry about it.

Yeah, you're looking at them. They're the only ones I have right now. Waiting for other people to post more pictures from the MWC meet. Hard to tell because of the angles, and the fact that there's 16s on the car right now with balloon tires. It's sitting the same that it was before with my old set up. Like I said in the original post, fronts have another 1.5" to go and the rears are all the way down, but I have coils I can cut on the springs. Chances are I probably won't need to go any lower since I'll be putting the RS' on the car and they'll be poking about 7mm front and back with stretched tires, so car won't be slammed, it will be sitting on tires.

I use to live in Pittsburgh. The roads are bad there in the winter as well. I washed a car once in the winter and the dang doors wouldn't latch. It was above freezing when I washed the car but went below freezing before the door latches dried all the way. Took about 2 days to get the doors to latch. And yes the car was dirty the next day. Salt is real bad.

Thanks! I'm excited to put them on. They're 17x8.5 in front and 17x9.5 in the rear. Should look pretty good.

I know. Soon. I want to test fit them before I order tires. And the way this winter is shaping up, as soon as I get tires they wheels could probably go on right away.

I have a picture of the car though! The front needs to come down some more because of an extra spring perch I put in raised it back up, but yeah, that's where she's sitting. I also have to put the wheels/tires on the car to see if the rear is good or if it's going to have to come down some more.

Depends what your definition of wide enough is. In this application, these tires are exactly wide enough. You'll never fit a 9.5" wide wheel in the wheel well without stretching the tires somewhat.

Also, going to rebuild my old engine...and these will go in it:

With my remote magnaflux viewer I've noticed a number of major faults in those rods !! For your own safety I would not want you to endanger your engine. If you send those to me I would be happy to recycle them for you

lol. Let me get back to you on that one no.

 :P

Anyways. By much demand for a test fit on VS. Here are the test fit of the rears. I was going to test fit the fronts, but the guy made the front adapters wrong. He essentially just made 5x120 spacers. lol.
