Default Light Staying On

Hello,
The battery in my 1995 850 T5 is now dead for good. It kept dying because I have a bad hinge or switch on the driver's side, so when the door was actually closed, sometimes the light right at the bottom of the dash, by the pedals would stay on. This kept killing my battery. I am going to need a new battery. What can I do to stop power from going to that door light/ and the dinging sound? Is it a certain fuse?

-Thanks

You might need to replace the door lack assembly.

Not sure if there is a specific fuse that would kill only the interior light without disabling something else. In the short term, I would pull the bulb(s) until you can do a permanent fix

Alright, thanks. If I pull out the bulb itself, would that prevent power going there?

-Thanks

In a round-about sort of way.

If you put an opening in an electrical circuit (such as removing the bulb), then current will/cannot flow across the open part of the circuit and, as Power = V x I, then 12 x 0 when I was going to school = zero, so, zero power will be used in that particular circuit.

Good Luck!
