Default Lights out!

Instrument panel, glove compartment light, and console lights out. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem could be and have some suggestions, or comments concerning the same? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

If they all went out at the same time, I would suspect a fuse. Check that first. The fuse box is under the hood and on the left side (when looking at the car from the front) all the way back by the windshield. On the lid of the fuse box should be a table that lists which fuse is for what circuit. Don't just look at the fuse to see if it is good or not, swap it with a known good one of the same size amperage rating just to be sure.

If the fuse is good, I would start looking at the headlight switch, or the instrument panel dimmer switch (the sliding switch above the headlight switch). I'm betting on the fuse though.

Hey Glenn, Isn't the fusebox on the drivers' side? Unless it is RH drive or something. Mine is on the Right side as seen from the front of the car

^It says he's from CA so I suspect he just made a mistake.

It should be on the drivers side and it's labeled very very clearly. If you undo the torx screws (I believe T-25), and you flip the cover over, you'll find the numbers that correspond to the different electrical devices.

I have a question as long as we are on the subject of lights. I had a minor accident that took out the headllight assy, corner light and the headlight wiper. I have replaced all and everything is working except the running light on the passenger side. The turn signal works but the running light on the corner does not. Everything worked before the accident. I tested the plug with a circuit tester and it appears there is no power for the parking light. Where does the wire for the light go? All the other lights are functioning. Any assistance would help. Thanks, Ward

I also replaced the socket ($20.00...ouch) thinking there might have been something wrong with the old one, it was broken on one end. No change

The Daytime running light is off?

Does it turn on when you have your headlights on? Because if it doesn't turn on, I'd say a fuse too lol.

No, the light on that side (R) does not come on. NO DRLs"! If you can not see a 2 ton car coming at you then I don't think Daytime Running Lights would help. All kidding aside I turned those off. Thanks for the comeback.

^Ooh...The parking lights, so the ones housed in the corners...

You say that your turn signal works but those do not?

Zzzz...

When the light assembly broke away it might have pulled on the parking (corner) light wires and cut one or both wires. Try to see if you canlocate damage. You may have to undo the wire protectors (the black hoses covering the wire bundles).

Any news on this??? Was it the fuse? Also, you are right about the fuse box being on the right side not the left. I had a senior moment so to speak <grin>
