Default loud ticking

I replaced the turbo on my 97' R Wagon to a 16t recently. Since then I think I hear an exhaust leak. I have not been able to locate a hole anywhere on the exhaust. Does the exhaust have a weak point where the wear out frequently? is there another part that when worn out sounds like an exhaust leak? I have checked and tightened the manifold and turbo bolts, and the engine has been running about 1,000 miles since the turbo swap. The car has 160,000 miles on it.

Thanks,
Chet

You can use a tube from wrapping paper to 'probe' for sounds, or one of those fancy-schmancy stethoscopes. It'll give you a good idea where the sounds come from.

I wouldn't put a stethoscope diaphragm against any hot surfaces, though! I am sure it will melt, and ruin the scope. Haha, just a quick 2cents.

Sure thing! although my automotive stethoscope has a metal rod which is attached to the diaphragm. When I was reassembling the car after the new turbo I do remember that the tubing connecting the turbo to the intake was worn. It looked serviceable but may have been damage when I reassembled. Could this be causing the noise that I think is exhaust? Thanks again for the help guys.
