Replace the ignition and see if any problems remain. It is possible that you have unrelated problems but I would tackle the big problem first.

High beams are still out.
It didn't have an effect on the blower fan for heat/AC. it is on most of the time, when you drive the car at any speed . It blows warm air into the car, No way to turn it off or regulate the speed/ temperature.
I will be ordering an ignition switch and checking the relays on top of radiator, as there's still clicking coming from somewhere around there.
Thanks so much for all the great advice!!!
Did you happen to solve any of the issues? I have the same problem with a 1993 850 GLT. Headlights work fine, but climate control unit blinks, and the fan only comes on when the headlights or parking lights are switched on otherwise the fan doesn't work at all. I can not control the speed or change it from defrost.

Do your high beams come on?Have you checked the fuses?Do you have a test light?Would also check the fuses for any corrosion in them, weird about the fan?

The fuse box is a good place to spray WD40. It helps keep corrosion down and makes it a bit easier to pull a fuse should you need to replace one. That or if you have the time to take "bulb grease" and pull each fuse and actually dip a bit on each blade of each fuse and stick them back in.

I had the same problems of the main lights not working on my 1990 740 and the trick of wiggling the ignition switch worked like a charm. Thanks guys.

Paramedic, if you need to jiggle the ignition switch to get anything to work, your switch is failing......look at replacing it sooner than later.

What he said, if it's starting to go, get it fixed before it strands you with a no start and wiggling won't help
