moon roof slide carpet came off
The moon roof slide that is carpeted... you know the thing that slides back and forth, so as to hide the moon/sun roof. Well, the carpet came loose, and I ripped it off. It is not destroyed, only I took it off, and cleaned the plastic sliding cover. I was wondering if I could glue it back on, or what I can do to put it back on without too much trouble. It looks like I may have to take it out first, and to glue it, I don't know what I can use for that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... as usual. Thanks again.

RE: moon roof slide carpet came off
Do you mean the first picture that I took. It only shows the one side. Now this is of the sun roof tilted in the up position. Or is it some of the screws in the second picture, where the sun roof is completely open? Now, I believe you are talking about the first picture. When I take the 4 torque screws out, the glass, and it's connecting arms, should all come with it, correct?

RE: moon roof slide carpet came off
Okay. I looked at the angles themselves, meaning when you tilt the window on each side the angle of the widow has a bracket that holds up each side of the window. The plastic piece snapped out of the bottom, and slid off to the back, and it was removed. The two torque screws on each side toward the front were removed, and window came right out. The plastic cover was heald in with four clips, and it came right out. The entire job took 10 minutes. Wish me luck on gluing the carpet back on. I hope it comes out okay. I will use the spray glue as advised. Thanks guys!!!

The first picture is of the sun roof cover all glued. The second shows what happens when you put too much glue on the plastic piece. WARNING!!! Do not put spray glue on the carpet itself. Make sure that after you spray the glue, you spread it all around until it gets tacky. Then put the carpet piece on, and quickly. Once it gets tacky, it dries fast, but if you put it on too fast, it will seep through the carpet, and leave nasty stains. Anyway, I found that out the first time. I took the original carpet off, and tossed it. I went to the fabric store, and got another piece of beige cloth, one that is exactly like the trim around the sun roof. I sprayed the glue, rubbed it until it was tacky, and then applied the cloth. Afterword, I cut the cloth to the right legth. I did tape off the spots that I did not want glue to be, and after the carpet dried on the plastic piece and the tape, I cut the carpet/cloth piece right at the edge of the tape, and peeled it off. It came out great. Anyway, the third picture shows the two screws that need to be taken off after you tilt the sun roof, and the others show the cover on the screws, and the sun roof cover closed. Good luck to anyone doing this... and remember to be careful with the glue, otherwise you will be doing what I did, or living with a crappy looking cover.
