Default My Salvage T-5R

Bought a T-5R from copart.

Car was located about 3 hours from where I live, so I packed up my wagon with everything I think I would need to get the car back home.

Made it the whole way back no problems, smoked like hell for the first 15 minutes or so. Had to buy a gallon of gas of a tow truck so I could get it out the lot, including having to jump it and change all four tires.

It is beat up, does have 229k miles on the clock, motor ran fine, biggest issue to pass inspection is fixing the SRS system even though none of the airbags were deployed.

thats awesome, good luck getting that thing back to original, looks like a fun project. Wish I could find a T5R in a junk yard with original interior. Would love to get a black/anthracite interior instead of my beige...

srs might just be a inspection warning... Being that its a 95 you can clear the code yourself under the hood by the diagnostic port..

More pics are needed BTW!!

Nice. Is it a '95? When I tried to look at the pics some pop-up covered my phone screen.

I'm not sure where I am going to go with the car.

Might strip it clean, put a roll cage and redo the entire suspension and have it as my daily driver until the engine has to be rebuilt again.

I say that because the interior is pretty well shot. (More pictures soon) Doesn't have the original floor mats, or the felt cover T-5R manual in the glove box.

Yes it is a 95, vin number was correct. Only reason why I bought it, couldn't let a t5r go to the grave.

Had the six disc cd changer in the trunk, came with volans on it instead of the originals.

I prefer the oem wheels personally.

If the Volans are in good shape, you can always sell or trade with someone for the original wheels. If I still had my original set, id trade you in a heartbeat....and i already have a set of Volans - id just use them as winter wheels and put snow tires on them.

Ill Find a set, the tires that are currently on them are new.

Have a set of projector headlights I am going to put in, not sure if I am going to throuw the HIDs in with it our not.

Definitely want to do something with the fog lights. Both work on my black T-5R but my yellow has a dead one on it.

looking at these

or wondering if these could be rigged to work in an 850

Finally got my black T5-R back from the dealership.

Turned out he cluster was bad not allowing the car to go into to test mode.
New one is in and SRS system is good to go.

currently on the list to get the car running good again,

All motor mounts
Control arms
Sway bar bushings and end links
Steering rack boots
exhaust hangers
left headlight
2 tires
pvc system (pull oil pan)
serpentine belt

that's what it needs to get back in good mechanical condition on top of doing stage 0.

Still have to fix the damage to the drivers side rear quarter panel, be taking that to a local body shop to get an estimate. post detailed pictures of that tomorrow.
