I have a 1996 850 and I have been trying to replace the Distributor Cap and Rotor and none of the ones I get from the auto parts stores do not fit it. I have tried all 3 auto stores around here and even rockauto.com and they don't have it. Any tips? The only thing I haven't done was take it to the dealership and I dont have the extra money for them to just "look" at the car. If I need to get pictures I will and post them on here.

It would be very helpful if you'd post the part numbers of the caps and rotors you've tried.

96 850 turbo? auto? Can you post the numbers off the black timing belt cover.

Since it's being a pain, you're going to have to be more specific or you'll just get advise leading back to the same stuff you've already tried.

 

odd, last year I got a cap/rotor/plugs/wires all from NAPA for my '95 850 turbo.

 

Which 96 850 do you have?

napa has them and so does o'riely

But FCP is your best bet
