Well I think I may have found my problem or at least part of it. I found a vacuum hose with a little green clamp on the end just sitting disconnected. It is located between the manifold and the power steering pump area.

I did some research and found out that this happens to be a vacuum hose that is suppose to connect to the manifold and that it just happens to be one that is prone to wear. Well, mine looks ok, just not connected!

I have tried for some time to locate where it connects, with now luck. I stick my hand back in there and feel around. I feel nothing sticking out for this hose to connect to. I know it has to be close as the hose doesn't have much play.

I also read that removing the power steering pump would make access easier but someone has connected it with long needle nose pliers, which is what I hope to do.

Any suggestions on the exact location where this vacuum hose connects would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot the most important thing! 1994 850 turbo.

Here is a link to a photo I found on Bay 13. Here you see it connedcted. I can wedge my had bach there but feel nothing. If you read the info it says you can remove and connect it using long needle nose, but I need to fint the connection first and hopefully do so without removing the power steering pump.

Ouch! I hate that one. When I did my PCV system replacement I did not trim the tubing that goes to that connection end and it pulled loose a few days later. I did use a long, hooked needle nose pliers to get that back on. I pulled the clamp up the line, pushed the hose on, and then slid the clamp back down to the end. I was afraid that I was going to have to pull the manifold up. It's a nail bitter.

 

BTW, a dental mirror goes a long way with some of these hose connections.

 

Yes it appears to be a pain, as I still can even find where on the manifold the connection is. Can you by chance describe where I need to connect this hose and is it possible to feel the nub the hose connects to with my fingers?

 

You can feel it if you reach as far as you can at the end of the manifold. If you get a mirror you can see it. The needle nose pliers I use are in this pic.

What problems are you having with you car? Is it running rough? Are you getting a CEL?

 

Hi I pulled one off like this on my 850 20v . here goes ! lie on your back under the front looking up under the manifold with a torch you wont see anything. you need a telescopic mirror with a swivel head and turn it to the left above the starter motor and you should see a shinie spru. thats wear mine was. Take a 10mm socket on a long extension bar with you , looking up you can see the bolt holding the dip stick undo it and take your dip stick from the top.
I found it easier to take the air box off and the battery off to get my arms as mine are quite big.
next get your arms in each side one in the dipstick side other going past starter.its a case of feel for it first ,then hold the end of the tube right hand and left hand finger to push it on.
