Default Need help! New to the Volvo community

Hello everyone I am very very new to the whole Volvo community. I just picked up a 1995 850 wagon turbo with 119XXX miles. Timing belt, tensioner, and rollers are brand new. They were changed the day before I picked up the car.

My question is, what are other things I should inspect and/ or replace. Prevenative maintenance let's call it. Things that are typical to go bad or should be replaced at the milage this car has.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Also if there is already a thread for these inquiries please feel free to throw me in that direction...

the biggie is done...did they happen to replace the Waterpump with the timing belt? The other stuff is just plugs, cap and wires. Last but never least...the PCV system. Thats a must if it has not been replaced.

So when you buy a volvo, the first things you probably wanna get straight is the ignition system. It will save you tons of problems in the future...basically what boxpin just told you. Ensure the Plugs are still good, the wires, distributor cap/rotor. Check the air filter, get an oil change if it hasnt been done (engine/tranny). Fuel filters also have a tendancy to never being changed...doesn't hurt to change it, mine has an original from 94 i believe lol...i just ordered one today

Finally, the PCV system should be checked...basically warm up the car to normal running temp, pop the hood and pull the dipstick. If smoke comes out, then ur PCV system most probably has to be changed or fixed.
