Default Need some advice on my 850R

Good Morning,

I just got a 16T straight flange turbo for free. So I think I would like to put it on the R. I like the ARD ECU tune and I already have a set of white injectors. I know an 18T would be more power but getting the 16T for free is nice. So what do I need to put the 16T into the car? Exhaust gasket I think... what else? I want to put together a shopping list. Get all the stuff I need and throw it all together.

Any help/ advice from the resident experts would be great!

Thanks!

I don't think you need that. The lines that connect to the turbo have copper washers, maybe a few of those and a little coolant.

Cool! Any report on that tune you tested?

Not really. I'm having boosting issues. Not sure what the problem is but I tested 3 ECU's at the tracks a week ago and all 3 gave me the same 1/4 mile time. My boost is fading and won't hold. I got a new boost gauge yesterday so I'll see how things look with it.

I don't know what it is. I'm probably going to smoke it.

I had a bunch of junk in the car, full size spare, and I'm at 5,400 feet and got 16.1 - 16.3 with 3 different ECU tunes. (Altitude effects turbo lag).

The only thing you will need is the gasket for the drain tube and the donut seal for the drain tube. Everything else is crush washer (unless you want to replace those too.)

If you are not replacing your exhaust you can actually take the 16T cartrige out of the exhaust housing and slide it into the 15G exhaust housing that is already on the car. Yes, they are compatible.
