Default New 850 Seat Skin Survey

Today I finished 3 sets of 3960 850R seat skins, (2) sets are for sale the third is in the passenger position of my platinum.
New 850 Seat Skin Survey-100_1467.jpg

I now have (2) 850 seats with light brown skins that I would like to strip the almost new skins and do a standard 850 with suede, leather and vinyl skirts. The 850R seat is a "huge" amount of work because of the piping that I make myself using soft leather, the curved suede patches because they're compound curves and top stitched. so I'm thinking a standard 850 seat with suede in the inner panels and the inner side strip (the smaller, top stitched side panels, bottom and back). What color should I d these in and Should I make the 850R rounded patches or the standard 850 design.

I would do standard seat covers and only do the R cover patterns when they are specifically ordered. Super nice.

Thanks, I just looked to see if you were on line to help me do the poll thing, you weren't on the list so I posted and you come up with a reply????? you must have just logged on. Yeah, I agree, I don't want to have too much inventory and no market.

You don't want inventory, you want orders. I would make flyer or cards and keep them in the car. Leave them on other 850's. You can also let your local Volvo hustler know about the covers you can do for their owners. It can spread.

I would also post them on eBay as seats. When people do a seat search they will see that you have covers with good detailed instructions on how to install them so people can order from you.

Smile 850 R covers

Wish I had the $. I really think the tan 850R covers would look great in my '97 850 T5 I'm wanting to look like an 850R. The exterior is done.

I would do the 850R' ish skin type in the factory colors (brown, tan, White, grey/black)! That way you could have the feel and look of the 850R seats but owners would not have to change out all the interior to match the seats.

Build to order (have one of each set for display pictures) and get a small deposit. That way you will not have non-moving inventory and at least your materials paid for.
