I have a 1997 volvo 850. I kow the heater core needs to be replaced...but now when i go to start it, it starts and then fizzles out. I have to turn the key off and on five or six times then it'll start. Does the heater core affect these cars in that way or is it the fuel pump going bad???

 

Also could be your Maf

 

It doesn't have anything to do with your heater core leaking.
