Default New turbo and exhaust on - holy crap!

SO this weekend me and a couple buddies finally got around to installing the new turbo (16T) and exhaust this weekend. All I can say is HOLY CRAP WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!

I know that it's not an 18T, but I think a lot of reason i felt such a huge difference was because of what i found with the stock turbo.

For starters, the CBV diafragm was completely shot. parts of it were obviously not air tight anymore, and it even had a couple of small pinholes in it.

Second of all...and I dont claim to be a master tech or anything, but I'm pretty sure that a turbo is not supposed to be soaked in oil, and pretty sure that the shaft should not have slightly over 1/8" of play in it.

Needless to say, I get more boost, and i get boost sooner than I did before. Also very pleased overall with the exhaust. I went with the OBX - more in my budget - and REALLY like the sound I get from it. Not too loud, but a nice deep tone. It also seems to accentuate the cam swap at idle. My only complaint is that the clamps that you use to put it together absolutely SUCK.

Anyway, the Death Star is a very happy car now.

Yep. Checked all the vacuum lines and cant find a thing. I cant imagine that the timing is so perfect that I have an EGR go bad immediately after installing the turbo and exhaust, so im hoping it's just something thats loose that I havent been able to find yet.

Did you remove the EGR and make sure the intake hole is not plugged?

I didnt take any of the EGR hoses off and I am pretty sure that the sensor is plugged in. I'll have to check it again next time it isnt raining.

Ok if all that is good it might be the valve mounted on the core support. But also check the rubber parts of the hoses on the valve.
