No fuel pressure. Help!
I went to Mapco today and when I came back out, the car started for a second and died then it wouldn't start back. I pulled a CMP sensor code as well. I've read that the camshaft position sensor is tied to the fuel system. Where is it and how much trouble is it to fix?
Update on the situation, I'm back at Mapco and I shorted the relay and the pump did not come on. I beat the top of the pump in hopes that it would work temporarily but nothing happened. I am also getting spark so that should shoot down the possibility of a cam sensor. I am going to do a more thorough test once I get the car home and torn apart.
Why would a no start stop you from rebuilding your turbo? If you had a bad cam sensor code I'd replace that before I started digging into the fuel pump. Look at the connector real close to make sure it's not falling apart.
Turns out the fuel pump had bad contacts inside the motor. I knocked it really hard while applying power and it spun up. Put it back in the car to go get a pump and it fired right up. I now have a new pump and it runs great except that the turbo is still noisy. The reason the pump prevented me from rebuilding the turbo today was that I HAD to get the car running. It's my only way to and from work. Now I have to pay off a $350 bill with the parts store I work at.
