Default No Speedo, ABS, Tracs, or headlights.

Hi, about a week ago my 850 turbo's abs and tracs light came on. This was accompanied by the speedo, dash lights, headlights and turn signals not functioning as well. It does this intermittently from once to more than ten times a day but it occurs only on startup. Now the weird thing is if I put the headlights in the DRL position or the parking light position everything is fine and works as normal. I'm dumbfounded at what could cause ALL of these to happen at once, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try moving the key (ignition switch) a little forward and backward to see if it changes anything. When the switch starts to wear out it can do some pretty strange things to the electrical system. There are a number of circuits going through it.

Okay thanks, I'm about to leave for work, if it acts up I'll give that a try and see what happens.

Okay, I think it is the ignition switch because when I use the remote start feature of my car alarm it acts like normal. I'll try testing this theory tomorrow.

You can replace the switch without having to pull the wheel so it's not that bad a job. If after a little more testing you think it might be bad it would be a good idea to replace it.
