Twice now when I have had to brake hard but not slamming on the brakes the ABS and TRACs lights came on on the dash and stayed on. When I stop and shut off the engine then restart the light are out and all is good until I have to brake hard again. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

 

could be an ABS sensor in one of the 4 hubs
Could be the ABS module. Is yours original?

Was an easy, quick swap out. My ABS and TRACS OFF lights in the cluster were always on, though - never went out.
