I just bought a 94 850 turbo wagon. I have a weird noise coming from the engine bay when the key is in the on position but I have not started it yet. The noise is like a vaccuum leak, but very loud. Is this normal??

I'm new to volvos so I would really appreciate any help.

 

It might be either the Mass Flow or the idle motor.

 

Its very close to the passenger side headlight.

 

Ok next quiestion does the car have headlight wipers?
If so feel the wiper arm does it vibrate?
The wiper motors go bad all the time. A gear strips then the motor runs all the time.
I unplugged them on my R as soon as I got it.

 

I has headlight wipers. I'll check that today. Sound like it could be my problem.
