Occasional click clack metal sound.
I'm experiencing an occasional/random click clack sound coming from my drivers side suspension. I pulled the wheel and the best I can tell it is coming from the joint that goes into the steering rack. I'm on the road and was wondering if this is something I should be concerned about?

If it's the joints in the steering shaft they usually either rust up and get stiff or if it's knocking it's wearing out and has too much play.
Like a drive shaft U joint they will usually knock for some time before failing but it's something I hope you attend to as soon as you get home. After all, it's your steering
I would also check to see what the steering racks rubber bushings look like. If they're well worn, cracked, pounded out ..... there might be too much movement and it's not the joint but the excess movement of the rack causing the joint to "knock".
