My odometer along with the trip meter has recently stopped. Has this happened before to anyone else? where can i start looking to fix it?

my service engine soon light is also flashing whenever i drive it, not just for 2 min like its supposed to. Can this be related to the odometer?

 

Fairly common problem with a fairly easy fix. The cause is a broken gear in the odometer. A new gear costs around $25 and takes a couple hours if you do it yourself. Do a seach on this forum and google and you will find plenty of info and a write up on how to fix it

 

I have the same problem too, I was going to try and go to a junk yard and get the gears to save a couple dollars. Being an unemployed college grad is not fun.

I own a 1996 850T wagon and my odometer and trip meter stopped working too, no service engine light though...Like people said before, it's not a big problem, and it is not expensive to fix.
