Default Oil filter question

I would imagine this will start something but who makes a really good oil filter for these cars? I am not crazy about the basic Fram filter at every auto parts store so what to buy?

Mann are good, that's what i use too. The last test i saw rated purolator pureone and the supertech (wal mart brand) among the best. Not joking about the wal mart filter either...

Where can you get a K&N for four bucks ??

People with Volvos have had problems with Frams. There have been complaints about lifter tick when first warming up that doesn't happen if they change brands. I've had that happen myself. I use Bosch or AC Delco.

I order Mann filters from www.iPdUSA.com or www.FCPEuro.com. I will skip an oil change or wait till I get a Mann or OEM Volvo filter before I use a Fram (I use to use Fram if I ran out of Mann).

Mann Filters is the way to go. I learned this the long hard stubborn way when I had my Audi. I always had a lifter noise coming from #1. Finally I moved to the Mann filters and the lifter noise went away. It turns out their design with the check valve actually works where other brands with the check valve didn't.

Go Mann. Like RSPI says, I get mine also from IPD.
