oil leak on top
I have noticed that there is oil leakage on top of the engine around where the oil cap is. I keep wiping it and its there again when i open the hood the next time. Is it because of the rubber seal under the cap that needs replacing?
Hi,
Yes, the filler cap gasket on 850s are noted for leak. I change it at every other oil change. I buyit at FCP Groton and I believe one was 65 cents.
I hope this helps.

are you refering to turbo drain seals? If so it's quite easy on an 850.
All you have to do is remove the bracket holding the drain to the feed line. Remove the two 5mm allen bolts from the top of the line then carefully take a prybar and bend the feed line delicately out of the way. the turbo drain will pull back and out.
A little tip: glue the new gasket to the pipe before you put it back in place.

Hello again,
If you're referring to the turbo oil return line, try the following:
http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/turborepairline.php
When I did mine, I used Permatex's most oil resistant black silicone RTV paste gasket on the seal ring. If this is what you're planning to do, make sure you get both the seal and the gasket for the return line.
FYI, a minor oil seepage from the turbocharger itself (on the bottom side) is normal and there's not much you should do to it.
Cheers,
