Default Oil in pre turbo intake hose.

So today I put in a new air filter, cleaned my MAF, installing new vacuum lines to the boost controller solenoid (very cracked, one not even hooked up), and am putting in a new oxygen sensor. But tada! Issues afoot!

Decided to clean my PTC while I was back there. My pre-turbo intake hose was covered in oil and I actually have a pool of oil sitting in the intake hose. My first thought was that my PCV system needs cleaning/needs replaced but I dont have the time this weekend for that. Any confirmations on this? No smoke when cars running and dipstick is halfway out.

Note: Oil seeps from my oil cap as well.

Car is a 95 850 Turbo

No smoke from the oil fill cap when running. Also after fixing all the vacuum lines from the boost controller solenoid my cars boost gauge only goes 3/4 of the way into the boost side of the gauge.

Previously WITH vacuum leaks my cars boost gauge showed full boost and the car felt good. Now it feels a tad slower and the boost gauge only goes 3/4.

Here are the things that I've done since this morning.

Installed 3 vacuum lines from the boost controller solenoid
Installed air filter
Cleaned MAF sensor
Cleaned the PCT sensor

I did accidentally start the car without connecting the MAF sensor then shut it off connected it and went for a drive. Car did not seem like it had went into limp mode.

What do your cars show on the boost gauge? Anybody had this issue?

You were likely over boosting before which can be real bad on the motor and turbo.

The best test to see if your PCV system is bad is to do the glove test. I did not have smoke out of my dipstick but my system was really clogged. You can skip forward to 6 minutes.

There is always a chance the gasket under the oil fill cap is bad but it does sound like you might have a bit of pressure in that crankcase.

Let us know the results of the "glove" test.

As always check all the vac hoses and try pinching them to see if they're getting hard and brittle. Could also be a clogged vac hose that looks connected and feels ok but it's carboned up inside and not flowing.

Glove tested the car after everything was finished today. Not blowing up the glove much but definitely not sucking it in. Looks like PCV system needs some cleaning. Next on the to do list.
