Default Opening up a 5 speed trans

I picked up a 5 speed trans from an immaculate '93 850 that went to the wrecking yard after a hit on the passenger side door. This car has 265k but it was almost showroom clean with lots of new parts, so I took a chance on the tranny. If I open it up, will gear shafts fall out of bearing sockets or anything that would be hard to reassemble? Are new gaskets available? The case is dry and the input shaft turns smoothly by hand, but how could I determine if all's well with the gears w/o installing it?

Sorry I have never opened one up.
If everything feels smooth and turns freely it should be fine.
