Overboost
Hello! I have a 1995 Volvo 850 with upgraded turbo and injectors. I was wondering if I could use a manual boost controller to turn down the boost. I'm not sure if it would because it seems like it would only ADD spring pressure. If I recall correctly the car will refuse to go above 15psi right? When in drive it will stop itself from going above 3k RPM. Or would there be another reason for this?
I'm sorry I know it's a vague question and it's because I really wasn't sure what to ask! However I was able to randomly stumble across the solution. Apparently the wastegate flapper was adjustable and way to tight, forcing the bypass closed for way to long! I bought the project car and personally have no idea what turbo is in it, but it's now running up and down the road perfectly fine on the stock ecu. (Weird.) As I find out more I'll post a detailed list of what was done and how the "project car to daily" is going!
