Default Overheating issue?

My 95 850 glt5spd has been running well lately. the only real fix ive done recently is i changed out the fuel pump relay with a new one from fcp groton to fix my stalling issues.

Yesterday it was raining heavily all day. Last night when i stopped in a gas station i noticed heavy condensation that almost looked like white smoke comin from my front grill. I open the hood and everything looked in order, however it seemed like the bay was a little hot. my temp gauge was reading just barely over the halfway point (a little more than horizantal) and my oil/coolant and all other fluids were topped off). Is my car running hot or do 850s just run a little warm?

Is there any common issue for 850s with this type of symptom? I was a little worried it was poss something with the thermostat or poss the temp sensor. Anybody have any ideas?

my car has just over 100k on it btw

Sounds like you saw condensation coming out of your grill.
I might think there was a leak just inside the grill.

Where was the steam coming from? Perhaps the heavy rain inundated the engine compartment and the steam came from the rain water on hot engine parts & exhaust.

that could be it, it was rainin pretty heavily and i hit some puddles. Today i was listening to the engine a bit, and noticed a clicking on and off in 13 and 5 second intervals(respectively). is this normal behavior?

Did you have the hood up and were you leaning in with your hand to your ear?
I think you're stretching the normal into abnormal.
Engines make heat and cool rain on hot engine components make steam.
Close the bonnet and sit in the car with the window down; hear anything obvious? Engines and their components make a myriad of sounds, learn them and notice when they change. A squeak is different from a groan or grind.
If you find yourself turning the radio louder each day, you may have a problem. I thinking you may be reaching.
Learn it.
Know it.
Drive it.

Drive every once in a while with the radio off and just listed to the car with the windows up. Once you get use to the sounds it makes you will better know what odd sounds sound like. Before you try to get use to it, make sure all of your fluid levels are good. Then you can sometimes tell if fluid gets low (oil) or things like that. These cars do make clicking noises, especially when you 1st start them. If you haven't driven them for a while, the 1st 5 to 10 minutes you make actually hear the valves ticking. It usually smoothe out after that.

If you really want to check your temp, hook up a obd-II guage and check the temp that way. I have a ScanGuage that I have hooked up and one of the 4 readings I monitor all the time is temp. My car usually runs about 193 degrees but sometimes gets as hot as 209.

lol i def know the sounds my engione makes. when im rompin on it throwin the car thru gears the radios usually off. i started thinkin it was runnin hot tho cause my car slowly, and i mean super slowly tends to burn off some oil and coolant every now and then. Recently i just threw ipd springs and koni adjustables in the car so ive been romping on it quite a bit, everything sounds in order

Is your car N/A? Also, the clicking on and off, could it have been your ac compressor?

yea my car is na, i dont think it was the compressor tho, i wasnt runnin the ac at the time, it sounds like it may be the fan clutch or somethin engaging and disengaging.

i was cruisin back up to albany for school a while back, cruisin at 2500 and i noticed my engine temp dropped off a bit from that spot slightly above the halfway point
