Default Power amp installation, loose wire.

On the same subject of "radio question" I installed a Volvo OEM 100 watt amp (on rhe floor behind the radio, in front of the heat/AC box) and there is a green wire (no connector on the end) that comes out from the amp harness. The amp works fine w/o it hooked to anything. Does anybody know what it's for? I could not locate a wireing diagram. Thanks in advance if you know!

The wire either goes into the speaker harness or the radio control harness. It must have come loose.

To add a little more info: The harnesses all look perfectly intact. This green wire is noticeably longer than any harness wire and is completly seperate. Thinking it was a ground (like home wiring...duh...NOT), I grouned it. Nothing worked, just the red flashing "Don't steal me" light on the head. I disconnected it and all worked perfect! Thank God I didn't blow up both units!!!

On mine it exits the harness right at the junction of the two different color foam insulation on your photo. Clearly there is not one on your amp. On mine the green wire looked like it originated further up in bundle of wires and is longer than any in the harness, it's also seems to be a slightly thinner gage. Now I'm thinking that it may have been added later for some reason. I can't really show you w/o pulling the radio and disconnecting everything to take a photo. Now that I recall, after grounding it with nothing working, and then disconnecting it, I had to replace a fuse in the under the hood fuse box for the radio. That tells me it was a hot wire if I'm not mistaken and the fuse did it's job. Possibly it was a hot feed for some other "thing", I didn't think to meter it at the time, I was just glad that everything worked after I changed the fuse. At this point it doesn't matter any more. Thanks for looking into it, I appreciate the photo! I'm over it!!!
