I have a 1993 850 GLT with the auto air control, and the A/C works fine but when I floor it the A/C cuts out as expected, but doesn't come back on right away. It will cut in and out after that until I restart the car. By cut in and out I don't mean the blower, the air is still blowing fine it's just the compressor isn't coming on. I'm thinking it's some sort of sensor as the A/C will work fine at freeway speeds or when I baby the car and don't floor it at all. Any information would be appreciated.

 

After you floor it and it shuts off try checking for power at the compressor. If you have power and the compressor isn't running then it needs to be reshimmed.
