Putting the Spare Tire away?
A while ago my right-rear tire exploded (faulty one that the used dealership provided), so I had to use the spare to get it a new one. I put the spare back in the best I could and everything seemed good for awhile until I noticed that every time I accelerated from a stop I heard a loud "CLUNK" from the trunk.
I looked back there and found that the jack and the tire were flying around because the restraint had come off. So I redid it and it was fine for awhile until it started happening again.
I tried putting it in a different way this time, no luck, so I tried again, and about 6 more times but they all seem to fail.
Does anyone know the proper way to get the Styrofoam ring, the tire, the jack, and the strap in there so that it all stays down? I feel like a dunce for having to ask this but the clunk sound is really annoying and I just can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks!

Been there. I would first curse at the car and then kick it off a cliff and be done with it...
If the above suggestion or nothing else works, I would make alteration and invent my own "strapping" set-up. Wedge whatever is soft & resilient in the tyre well to keep it from moving around. "Velcro" is another alternative for the jack (but didn't the jack have its own nest?).
See what else other intelligent member has to say.....
