Radio Code
I need to reactivate my radio. I have the code. Its 5525. I turn on my radio and it says "CODE". I then enter 5525 and then it says "rPt" or "rPe". There is a button that says rPt, so I hit it, but nothing happens.
What should I do?
What should I do?

If you can't get it working and you really want the volvo radio. I'll sell you mine with code, CD/tape. for $75. I'm going for the $99 pioneer at walmart that I have in my 96 NA that sounds way better than the OEM radio and gives me the space below it for a few CDs.
Just my opinion on the sound thing though. I know it's very subjective.

If you entered the correct code it should have unlocked the radio. If it says rpt, it's asking you to enter the correct code. If you are not the original owner, there is a chance that someone swapped the radio with another Volvo radio, in that case you may have to take a trip to a dealer.
Search around in the car for the correct code. I believe the radio will give you 3 chances to enter the correct code. If you see rpt, just enter the code again, maybe you missed a number.
As for the rtn or rpt button on the radio itself, it's for repeating tracks on a cd or tape.
If you fail to enter the correct code on the 3rd try the radio will lock you out for 2 hours of operation. That sucks!

Thats the way to do it. Give your Radio serial number to the dealer. You never know if someone before you replaced the radio or upgraded from Cassette to CD. Your vin will only produce the code of the original radio.

It's not uncommon for a dealer to ask for proof of ownership, but my dealer here knows me. Plus how many car thieves are going to call the dealership with the vin of the car they stole to get the radio code?
