Default Radio 'OFF'?

I recently got my 850 back from the shop and the Radio reads 'OFF' everytime I turn it on. No matter what I have tried (including putting in the code), I cannot fix this. Does anybody know what I can do to get my radio working again?

Thanks

You need to leave the key in the 1st position(radio and climate works) for about 2 to 3 hours till it says code. I have seen cars take up to 5 hours.
If you have a trickle battery charger I would connect it to be safe.

So if I turn the key and leave it on, it should just switch over after 2-3 hours? And is this the only way to do this or is there a way around it?

Hi and welcome to the site.

No, there is no other way around it. Some of them reset after driving 2+ hours. Other than that, park the car, turn the key on I, leave it for 2 straight hours and you'll have 3 new chances to enter the correct code.

You may also want to read the New Volvo Owner thread and the New 850 Owner thread.

Oh, when someone with over 35,000 post tell you how to take care of something, it's likely the quickest and best way.

Or you can just drive around for 2 to 3 hours. If you are planning a long driving trip it should switch while you are driving.

Alright, thanks for the help both of you. I've had it on for about an hour now so hopefully when I go back out in about an hour or so it will be reading "CODE".
