Default Rear Brake Components

Hello everyone, I'm new to Volvo ownership, and need some assistance regarding the rear brake system parts (on a 1994 850, base model manual transmission).

I have only been driving an 850 for a few weeks now, and after a trip back to school after break, the drivers side rear caliper has fell from its mounting point and begun to scrape on the wheel. Luckily, I was only a mile from campus, and I manager to limp it into the parking lot.

Now I face the problem of getting the caliper mounted back up where it belongs, which is not fun, because I don't have parts numbers for the brake caliper bolts, nor do I really know what I need. I went to Advanced Auto Parts, however, the image they displayed on the screen showed what appears to be more of a caliper pin, which I don't think is what I need. The bolts that I was told held the caliper on were 13mm, and what Advanced told me I needed was this part (the pins), and here is the link to what they suggested:

Is there someone who could let me know whether I need a specialty bolt, or what size I need to get this caliper back where it belongs? I am looking for the rear bolts, and the front bolts look to be the same, but I don't know if they will work in the rear as well. I believe that someone forgot to install new bolts and the old ones sheared off while I drove back to school.

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks, Tech. I'll call Groton about the part later today.

Pretty sure they give you those bolts when you buy rear rotors. I would take one of the good bolts out and go to NAPA and see if they can match it up.

Where do you live? I wish people would put their location in their profiles. I'm sure I have a couple sitting in my old bolts drawer if you live near Columbus.

How does a whole brake caliper just "fall off" a car?

Clearly someone did not tighten the bolts enough, that's really crazy.

It is amazing what can happen to a car when things are ignored. I had the right front wheel fall off of my '74 Nova when I was in High School - but man that stereo I put in it cranked. You couldn't even hear the wheel bearing falling apart when it was turned up to 11.

My son had been ignoring a brake issue on, what was at that time, his Jeep. I took a look and found this:

When you buy parts for Volvo, forget Advanced Auto Parts or any franchise as much as you can.

The rear calipers are secured by 2 bolts. I bought them from the dealer. I would replace all components; rotor, pads, caliper (only if damaged), both bolts and the pad holding spring & the 2 pins.

P.S.: The 2nd pic is a courtesy of eEuroparts.
